Book chat 

 

This year we have had a lot of amazing books but there have been some that I got and my favourite so far is the boy the bird and the coffins maker. This book is the last book we hav for the year and I think the Librarians saved best for last. This book is about a coffin maker how finds a boy how is poor because he is running away from his farther and then the coffin maker finds him and then the coffin make looks after him. This book is good from year 4 to 6.

Camp  Toona

Courage

 At camp we all had to use a bit of courage. I had to use courage when I went into the canoe. I did not really like the idea of a fish under me. In my canoe with me was Max. At the start we were not the best at all but after a while we got the hang of it. 

Highlights

I personally love going kola spotting. My group found 26 kolas. We had to ride every where we went and to me the that we went looked like were dinosaurs lived. We were riding for two hours straight. And guess what we found to hedgehogs on the way. Billsy(that is his name). Picked up the hedgehog and then we all git to pat it.

Leadership

At camp we all gad to show leadership. Especially Goldie. We all got injured at one time of the camp. Most of use got splinters ,cuts and bruises. Guess  what, as a class I am 99% sure that we would have got 400 mosquito bites as a collective. You may be think how is this leadership? There were  mosquitos every where and I could tell that they where bugging lots of different people.

All about Sovereign Hill

What I have been doing this term.

This term our class has been working really hard and  we had a really fun camp when we went to Sovereign Hill. The whole term we were talking about how much we want to go to camp but when we got there it was freezing and then I remembered that  in 1850s it was probably 10 times colder without heating and fires.

Life in the 1850’s.

 

 

Life is the 1850’s was tough as you can imagine. The schooling was………

HORRIBLE. I mean would you really like to get whipped 10 times because  you were breathing too LOUD? All I know is that I don’t. The 1850’s was so much different to now and sometimes I don’t even like living in my house and they had to live in tents in the cold.

The 1850’s work business

The 1850’s work Business are very different to now but I guess some are the same but I can’t think of any so can you? If you had a business you would probably own land and you had enough money to feed your hole family. Even if you were 16 years old you were probably married and had children. And that is a difference. The best business to have was probably the Blacksmith because they had to make horse shoes.

Eureka Stockade

The Eureka Stockade was a horrible event that only lasted 15 minutes. You may be wondering what is the Eureka Stockade, will it is were 100s of people didn’t like the idea of paying for gold licenses. Do you think it is a good idea? In the incident there were 22 miners, 6 soldiers and 1 women killed in the fight.

Relationships

On this camp I made my relationship so much stronger especially the people who  were in my cabin. I now know Tilly and Hazel a lot more because they were  new. They both made me laugh but it was weird when I started laughing in the middle of the night and woke up everyone.

Self-Management 

In camp I had to use lots of knowledge when the teacher asked me a question. I had to think of what to say but then I remembered what I had been learning the whole team. I had to use resilience when I found out what I had to wear. It was very cold there and when we had to wear a dress I was so sad but that is when I used resilience.

Hello peps,

Last week we had the literature festival. My favourite part of it was the lunchtime play when we got to  have fun with our buddys……. but I was in the literature Committee. I was in charge of the colouring station. Helping me was Gace, Hazel, Zara, Lara and Me. It was my favourite part because we put a smile on peoples faces. We had lots of sheets of different things and the best one was the golden ticket one. It took a lot of work but in the end it was worth it. I am so excited because we all get to watch a movie……well the people in the CCL Committee.

Each year level got a person to came and talk to them about writing are drawing and the person that came to us was Mark Willson.  We all learnt something new about drawing and something I learnt from him was draw things that you are related to or know something about it. At the end of the day he chose three peoples drawing to draw in his book one day. We all learnt something new and he have inspired me have have a go when it comes to drawing. I am grateful to have teachers like I this because lots of people can’t afford people to come and speak to us.

 Before the market we did lots of things like make ads and me favourite one was the not happy Jane one and it was so much fun to make so i hope you enjoy watching it and I wonder if you can make one to or maybe you have already made one before.

Our market!!!

Hello friends, 

I am in year five which mean I have lots of responsibilities. One of them is the year five market. We have 5 more days til the market and we are al most done. 

We have made 105 scrunchies. But how are people supposed to now where to go. Well we have to make print ads for, people to read. Then after we have to make a 30 second video to persuade people to come to our market store.

We have had so much fun making stuff for our market and there is one bad thing. Soooo… I asked Sally Capp to come to our market and buy some items but she has not replied to my email. On Tuesday we are all going to Mac half to buy lots of things but I am scared that know is going to but stuff from us and we did everything for nothing.

APS CAREY FAIRIES

3,2,1 Carey Fairies clap clap ha Konnichiwa. That is our chant for our netball team. My netball team is really nice and my coach is the title above Queen. My coaches name is Misty(teacher/coach). So far netball is fun and I have learnt so much and……we are undefeated. WHAT! I an so proud of us.

My strength on the court is shooting and getting into space. My position is GA that means goal shooter. I love shooting because I play a lot of basketball and I shoot when I play basketball games. Do you play basketball? I don’t play netball so I don’t know all the rules so the ref always tells me of. We have played three games and the second know we played the score was 33-1 and our coach made us  them get a goal. In my team there are 9 girls and 1 boy. My best friend is the best in our team and she is really good she can intercept any day of the week. Me and Sylvie are the shooters and she is the tallest in our team and our smallest player is C . On Wednesdays we play games and on Thursdays we train. It is so fun.
